Privacy Policy for Fold Tracker
Effective Date: June 15, 2025
This Privacy Policy describes how Fold Tracker ("we," "us," or "our"), the application identified by the package name `com.krafted.foldtracker`, handles information when you use our mobile application (the "App").
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Information We Collect
We collect information in the following ways:
- Fold Count Data: The App's primary function is to track the number of times you fold and unfold your foldable device. This fold count data is stored locally on your device. We do not transmit this specific count off your device tied to any personal identifiers.
- Usage and Diagnostics Data (via Third Parties): We use third-party services to help us improve the App and understand how it's used. These services may automatically collect certain information, including:
- Crash Reports (Firebase Crashlytics): If the App crashes, information about the crash event (such as device state information, unique device identifiers like Firebase installation IDs, and crash traces) may be sent to Firebase Crashlytics to help us diagnose and fix bugs.
- Analytics Data (Google Analytics for Firebase): We use Google Analytics for Firebase to collect anonymous usage data. This helps us understand user behaviour, feature usage, device types, operating system versions, and general geographic location (like country). This data is aggregated and anonymised and typically includes a resettable device identifier (like the Firebase installation ID).
- Advertising Data (Google AdMob): To display in-app advertisements we integrate Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK). AdMob may collect your device's advertising identifier (e.g., Android Advertising ID), IP address, coarse location (such as country or region), device information (make, model, OS version), and interaction data with ads (impressions, taps). This information is used to serve, measure, and—where you have given consent—personalise ads. Learn more in Google's AdMob & Ads Privacy Policy.
We do NOT collect Personally Identifiable Information (PII) directly through the App. The App does not require account creation, and we do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or precise location.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To provide the core functionality of the App (tracking fold counts locally).
- To monitor and analyze usage patterns to improve the App's features, performance, and user experience (via Google Analytics).
- To diagnose and fix crashes and technical issues (via Firebase Crashlytics).
- To serve, measure, and, where consent has been granted, personalise in-app advertisements (via Google AdMob).
- To ensure the stability and security of the App.
Data Sharing
We do not sell or rent your data to third parties.
We share information only in the following circumstances:
- With Service Providers: We share data with Google as described above for the purposes of analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase), advertising (Google AdMob), and crash reporting (Firebase Crashlytics). These providers have their own privacy policies governing their use of data.
- For Legal Reasons: We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or a government agency).
Third-Party Services Privacy Policies
The App uses the following third-party services that may collect information used to identify you:
We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these third-party services.
Data Security
We value your trust in providing us your information, thus we strive to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. However, remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Children's Privacy
The Service Provider does not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13.
The Application does not address anyone under the age of 13. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. In the case the Service Provider discover that a child under 13 has provided personal information, the Service Provider will immediately delete this from their servers.
